What is Palm Produce Resortwear?

Palm Produce Resortwear is a founder-led resortwear boutique in Coconut Grove, Miami, curating refined clothing for warm destinations since 1984.

Our boutiques in Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne carry lightweight linen, swimwear, dresses, shirts, cover-ups, accessories, gifts and home accents for women and men, chosen for ease by day and casual elegance by night.

Who is Stephen Licata?

Stephen Licata is the founder of Palm Produce and the eye behind every piece in our boutiques.

By 23 he was buying for a Miami clothing store he soon owned and turned into a high-end European fashion destination, before founding Palm Produce. His founder-led curation is why the collection feels edited rather than stocked.

What does quiet luxury mean at Palm Produce?

Quiet luxury at Palm Produce means beautiful fabrics, flattering cuts and lasting quality, with no need for loud logos.

Think fine linen, soft cotton, vivid but considered prints. Pieces that look effortless at a waterside lunch and still feel polished at dinner, chosen by a founder who has dressed clients for warm-weather living since 1984.

Where are your boutiques?

We have two boutiques: Coconut Grove at 3439 Main Highway, Store A, and Key Biscayne at 328 Crandon Blvd, #113.

Coconut Grove is our flagship, in the heart of the village since 1984, with an expanded men's swim collection. Key Biscayne, steps from the beach, carries our largest swim selection for women and men.

What are your store hours?

Coconut Grove is open Monday to Thursday 10 am to 6 pm, Friday and Saturday 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm. Key Biscayne is open every day from 11 am to 5 pm.

Can I shop Palm Produce online?

No, Palm Produce is an in-store experience, and we don't sell online.

Our collections change constantly and some pieces are here only a short while, so every visit brings something new. For questions about a piece, call the boutique or follow @palmproduceresortwear for new arrivals.

Resort style

5 questions

What is resort wear?

Resort wear is clothing designed for warm, relaxed destinations: breathable, easy to pack and polished enough for a good restaurant.

It includes linen shirts and trousers, sundresses and maxis, caftans, cover-ups, swimwear and refined sandals. The best resort wear moves from the pool to dinner with a simple change of shoes or accessories.

What does a resort casual dress code mean?

Resort casual means put-together but comfortable: collared or linen shirts, tailored shorts or trousers, sundresses and elegant sandals.

It sits above beachwear and below jacket-and-tie. Swimwear, athletic wear, tank tops and rubber flip-flops are usually turned away in restaurants. In the evening, many resorts expect long trousers for men and a dress or elevated separates for women.

Is linen good for hot, humid weather?

Yes, linen is one of the best fabrics for heat and humidity because it breathes, wicks moisture and dries quickly.

That's why linen is at the heart of our collection, in shirts, dresses, pants, tunics and easy separates for women and men. It stays cool in Miami's summer and on any tropical trip.

Doesn't linen wrinkle?

Linen does soften into gentle creases, and that relaxed texture is part of its appeal.

Well-made linen wrinkles more gracefully than cheaper versions. Hang pieces as soon as you arrive, steam lightly if you like, and treat a few creases as the signature of warm-weather elegance.

What colors and prints look elegant in the tropics?

Soft neutrals like white, sand, ivory and navy always look refined, and a single vivid print or color adds personality.

We love a linen base layered with one statement piece, such as a printed caftan, a colorful shirt or a bright scarf. It's the balance Stephen has curated for decades: calm, with a confident note of color.

Destination weddings

5 questions

What should I wear as a guest at a beach or destination wedding?

Choose breathable, elegant pieces in linen, cotton or silk that respect the dress code and the setting.

For women, a midi or maxi dress, a polished jumpsuit or elevated separates. For men, a linen or light suit or tailored trousers with a crisp shirt. Check the invitation for the dress code, and plan for heat, humidity and breeze.

What should men wear to a tropical or beach wedding?

Men look best in a light linen or cotton suit, or tailored trousers with a fine linen shirt, in sand, light gray, navy or soft blue.

Skip black and heavy wool. For beach formal, add a jacket and a light tie if requested. For a more relaxed ceremony, a tailored linen shirt with trousers and loafers is the polished choice.

What does beach formal mean?

Beach formal is dressy but adapted to sand and sun: formal shapes in lighter fabrics and colors.

Women typically wear a long or midi dress in a breathable fabric. Men wear a lightweight suit, often without a tie unless requested. Leave evening gowns, tuxedos and stilettos at home.

What shoes work for a wedding on the sand?

Flat leather sandals, espadrilles, block heels or wedges work on sand; stilettos sink.

Men can choose loafers or refined sandals for a relaxed ceremony. If the ceremony is on the beach and the reception indoors, bring a second pair for the dance floor.

What should I pack for a destination wedding weekend?

Plan one look for each event: the welcome dinner, the ceremony and reception, and a relaxed farewell brunch, plus swimwear and a cover-up.

Build around a few linen pieces that mix, then add the special outfit for the wedding itself. Our team can help you plan the whole weekend in one visit.

Cruises

3 questions

What should I pack for a cruise?

Pack breathable daywear, swimwear with an elegant cover-up, and two or three dinner outfits that suit your cruise line's dress code.

Neutral pieces that mix and match save space, and a silk scarf, statement jewelry or a colorful shirt changes the look each night. Linen, cotton and silk travel well and feel right in the Caribbean heat.

What do people wear to dinner on a cruise?

Most cruise dinners are casual or elegant casual: collared shirts and trousers for men, sundresses or blouses with skirts or trousers for women.

Formal or gala nights, where they exist, call for a dark suit or jacket and a cocktail dress. Many luxury lines now hold only one formal evening, or none, so check your line's dress code before you pack.

What fabrics are best for a cruise?

Linen, cotton and silk are the best cruise fabrics because they breathe in tropical ports and look polished at dinner.

Avoid heavy synthetics that trap heat. Hang your pieces as soon as you board, and they'll be ready for the evening.

Getaways

3 questions

How do I build a vacation capsule wardrobe?

Start with a few neutral linen and cotton pieces that all work together, then add two or three statement pieces and versatile sandals.

A typical warm-weather capsule: two pairs of trousers or skirts, three or four tops, two dresses or a caftan, swimwear and a cover-up, and one evening look. Everything should pair with everything else, so packing light still feels luxurious.

What should I pack for a honeymoon in the tropics?

Pack light, romantic pieces: flowing dresses, fine linen, swimwear you love, and two special dinner looks.

Choose fabrics that feel wonderful in the heat, and leave room for a statement caftan for sunset. Our team can help you put the whole trip together.

What should I wear on a yacht or boat day?

Wear light layers over swimwear: a linen shirt or cover-up, tailored shorts and soft-soled shoes or bare feet on deck.

Bring a hat, sunglasses and a light layer for the ride home. For lunch ashore, a linen shirt or easy dress takes you from the boat to the table.

Warm-weather living

3 questions

What should I wear in Miami?

Miami style is relaxed but polished: breathable linen and cotton, sundresses, tailored shorts, refined sandals and good sunglasses.

Days are warm year-round, so choose light fabrics, and bring one elevated look for dinner. In Coconut Grove, the look is classic and understated, with a touch of color.

How can I look elegant in hot weather every day?

Choose natural fabrics, relaxed tailoring and a calm color palette, then let one detail stand out.

Linen trousers with a soft top, a well-cut shirt dress or a fine knit polo with linen shorts all look effortless in the heat. It's the everyday version of quiet luxury.

Where can I buy men's and women's swimwear in Miami?

Both Palm Produce boutiques carry swimwear: Key Biscayne has our largest selection for women and men, and Coconut Grove has an expanded men's swim collection.

Pair swim with a linen shirt or cover-up for an easy look from the beach to lunch.
